Natural Eggs
Natural Eggs
The photo’s and idea are from last year, but I thought I would re-post it for those friends who missed it, and might be inspired to follow suit. We are going to do it again, because it was so much fun!!
I thought it would be super cool to dye eggs in a natural way, and the results were frankly... awesome. Fun with a capitol F! We used an old nylon stocking to attach the plant. And for stripes we used rubber bands.
Here is how to make your own egg dyes:
Materials: Your food for color + 1 tablespoon vinegar + 2 cups water = Egg Dye.
Bring all of the ingredients to a boil, then simmer for 10 or more minutes. Pouring your mixture through a sieve if you have one.
Colors: Red: beets, cabbage, red raspberries, strawberries
Yellow: onion skins, turmeric, mustard
Blue/Purple: blueberries, blackberries
Green: mix your yellow and blue dyes
Orange: mix your red and yellow dyes
Mix it up and try it! When your done, make a cobbler with the berries!!
